Why GymPsycho Exists
I didn't set out to build a fitness app.
I set out to fix a problem I had in my own training.
After years of serious lifting, every workout app felt wrong: too slow, too bloated, too generic — built for mass appeal, not for people who actually train.
They tried to motivate. I just wanted to track real training.
The Reality of Serious Training
Real training isn't clean or generic.
You train in different gyms. With different machines. Different weight units. Different phases.
Progress isn't linear. Technique changes. Numbers reset.
Most apps ignore this reality. I didn't.
What I Wanted
I wanted a training log that:
- Adapts to real-world training
- Respects how experienced athletes think
- Disappears during the workout
- And never lies about progress
So I built GymPsycho.
No accounts. No ads. No social feed. No cloud dependency.
Just clean data, real PRs, and tools that work under the bar.
Design Philosophy
The app should never be the focus. The training should.
That's why GymPsycho is:
- Faster than pen & paper
- Offline-first
- Private by design
- Cross-platform (iOS & Android)
- Brutally focused on performance
Every feature exists because it solved a real problem in my own training. Nothing more. Nothing less.
How It Grew
GymPsycho started as a tool for my own training. But I realized that the same principles that help experienced lifters — clean data, real PR logic, structured volume — also help beginners do it right from day one.
So I built the Plan Generator: personalized, science-based training plans in 60 seconds. Added animated exercise demonstrations for proper form. Built Training Intelligence to guide weight selection and spot plateaus before you feel them.
The goal shifted: not just a tool for athletes, but a training companion that grows with you — from your first day in the gym to your next competition PR.
Who It's For
GymPsycho is for anyone who takes their training seriously — whether you're just starting out or chasing competition PRs.
- Beginners who want to start right — with guided plans and animated demonstrations
- Intermediate lifters chasing new PRs with data-driven insights
- Advanced athletes who need multi-gym support and real PR logic
- Anyone tired of bloated, account-first, ad-driven apps
If you need clean data and zero distractions — whether it's your first month or your tenth year — you're in the right place.
The Goal
GymPsycho doesn't aim to be the biggest app in the App Store.
It aims to be the most trusted training log — for beginners and pros alike.
Free to use. Pro to master.
